Our property

Ca' Marcello is situated in a peaceful and convenient location, right in the heart of the Veneto countryside, between Oriago and Malcontenta, within the Mira area. Just 2 km from the famous Villa Foscari designed by Palladio, it serves as the perfect starting point to explore Venice and its surroundings while still enjoying the tranquility of nature. Reaching Venice is easy: there is a bus stop only 900 meters from the property, or you can take the vaporetto from Fusina, which is just 8 km away. We offer rooms and apartments to meet various needs. The double rooms come in different sizes, all featuring private bathrooms, air conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. One of the rooms can also accommodate a third single bed. The two-room apartments consist of a double bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen/living area, with the option to add a third bed. The three-room apartments include a double bedroom, a room with bunk beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen/living area. All apartments are equipped with air conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. Extra beds must always be arranged in advance. The property is surrounded by greenery, featuring a lovely tree-lined avenue that stretches from one end to the other, a lavender field, and a vegetable garden. For those looking to relax or spend time outdoors, there is a summer pool with a solarium, bicycles, two-person kayaks, ping pong, foosball, and a play area for children. Come visit us — we look forward to welcoming you!

Ca' Marcello is a family farm with deep roots in this land. The original building dates back to the 1700s and has been part of this corner of the Venetian countryside for over three centuries. In the early 1900s, Silvio Manfrin, the grandfather of the current owner, bought the house and started a grocery shop and a small tavern, very popular with the barges — the "burci" — that travelled up and down the Brenta between Padua and Venice. In the 1960s, with the construction of the Romea road, river traffic came to an end and the house remained unused for a long time. In 1996 the family decided to restore it and open the agritourism, betting on an extraordinary place: a stone's throw from Venice, overlooking the Brenta Naviglio, in an oasis of peace and quiet. The land surrounding the property has always been cultivated and still is today. In spring we harvest asparagus and artichokes, in summer tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines and peppers, and in autumn pumpkins. Since 2023 we have also added a lavender field, which we invite you to visit especially during the flowering season. Today Ca' Marcello is managed by Fabiana, who has been coordinating the property since 2023, with the support of her mother Ornella and her father Silvio — always around and always ready to share stories and memories of someone who was born and grew up right here. The grandchildren Gaia, Giulia, Edoardo, Ilaria and Iris are often seen around the property too: Ca' Marcello is, above all, a family home.

Area countryside

Ca' Marcello is in a strategic position: in the heart of the Riviera del Brenta, just a few kilometres from Venice, but with the whole of Veneto within easy reach. Guests who choose to stay here often discover that Venice is just one of the many things to see and do. The first stop is the Riviera del Brenta itself, which starts practically on the doorstep. The Palladian villas overlooking the Naviglio, the well-kept gardens, the small villages like Oriago and Dolo: everything can be explored by bike, by car or on a cruise along the Brenta. Half an hour away by car is Chioggia, the charming lagoon town that many people don't know, with its fish market, canals and a unique curiosity: the bell tower of the Church of Sant'Andrea is home to the oldest clock in the world. Padua deserves at least a full day: the Scrovegni Chapel with Giotto's frescoes, the Basilica of Sant'Antonio, the lively squares and the atmosphere of one of Italy's oldest university cities. Around Padua you'll find the Euganean Hills, with villages like Arquà Petrarca, the thermal spas of Abano and Montegrotto, and walled towns like Montagnana — whose walls are among the best preserved in the world. Heading north, another chapter opens: Treviso, a city of water crossed by the Sile river; the Prosecco hills; and then Vicenza, the Palladian city par excellence, with the Olympic Theatre and Villa La Rotonda. Those who love medieval villages will be spoilt for choice: Cittadella and Castelfranco Veneto with their intact walls, Marostica with its famous chess square, Bassano del Grappa with its wooden bridge over the Brenta, and finally Asolo, the "city of a hundred horizons", from which on clear days you can see both the Dolomites and Venice. In short, you can spend a whole week without ever getting bored — and without necessarily setting foot in the lagoon.
